"People living in the home receive a high standard of care from a committed care staff team and home manager, who are continually working to improve the service they provide and the care and support that the individuals living in the home need"
"People are happy and cared for. We saw people positively interacting with each other and care workers supporting people in a caring and sensitive manner. Care workers had a good knowledge of the individuals they cared for. We saw that people had been supported to develop friendships and could participate in a range of activities and events."
"A person told us; “I am happy here, it’s a lovely home and the “girls”(care workers) are very kind”."
I would recommend Ty Mair Care Home in an instant. They were incredible when they looked after my father and during the last few weeks of his life, even more so. It is testament to the quality and care of the staff there that when my mother in law needed to go in to care that Ty Mair was our only choice. Mum - who has always been a tough cookie to please loves it there. When mum arrived from hospital she had a number of bed sores which i didn't hold out too much hope in them getting fully healed as she was completely bed bound, but not only did the staff achieve this but they've even managed to get her up and sitting in the lounge - which is incredible! Ty Mair staff genuinely care for all their residents and we are so grateful for the way they cared for my dad (John Davies) and now for looking after and putting a smile on the face of Mary May.

We had to find residential care at very short notice. I called Ty Mair on a Saturday in February 2020 and visited that day. As a family we have not looked back. We found an absolute gem and cannot thank Ty Mair enough. Their ethos is to provide excellent care in a supportive, fun filled environment. Since arriving at Ty Mair’s EMI unit Mum has, within the limitations of her condition, regained her independence and is happy and content. We are continually amazed by the effort all the staff take to make living at Ty Mair a memorable chapter of all their residents lives. They really go the extra mile!
I can’t thank the staff and management of Ty Mair enough. I have had the experience of 2 members of my family being residents there. Unfortunately one died last year and everyone was so kind to him and to me as I sat with him.
My mum is now a resident and she is very happy as it is a worry for the family when you have to make this decision.
Everyone at Ty Mair goes the extra mile to keep my mum and everyone safe and happy during this difficult time. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you all.
For the last 5 years my sister and I have cared for our mum who has dementia ,however by May this year we realised that mum needed more than we could give her. We felt guilty that we were letting her down and scared as due to the pandemic we could not visit any homes. I had heard positive stories of Ty Mair through my work and that is when TY Mair came into our lives. From the first phone conversation with Rachel , we have received nothing but kindness and reassurance and mum is thriving. She is happy ,safe and very settled and this is due to the wonderful staff, She enjoys all the varied activities that are always going on and as a family we always feel very welcome and that Ty Mair is now part of our family. We cannot thank all the staff enough for making a very hard decision actually be one of the kindest we could of made for our mum.
My mother in law has been a resident at Ty Mair for 1year. She has dementia & although the home is quite a way from where we live,we know we made the right choice for her. She has thrived during her time here, has put on weight and enjoys all activities especially dancing! All the staff are amazing, making sure during this difficult time that we see pictures & videos of our loved ones every day. It shows what great work they are doing when you see all the residents looking so happy. The team there have always been very welcoming to us as a family.
The hardest thing myself and my dad have ever done was to make the decision to put my Nanna in Ty Mair as she had always lived on her own in Swansea, It was the best decision we ever made , I can't thank Ty Mair staff enough for all the care and support they gave my beautiful Nanna , my Nanna who suffered with dementia was a resident at Ty Mair for 5 and a half years before we sadly lost her last year, she loved the staff and the home very much .The staff were amazing in every single way possible and or that me and my Dad will be forever grateful and will always support them in every way we can.
My mum has been at Tŷ Mair since January 2020. On my first visit to the home I was overwhelmed by how homely it was and I immediately saw that the carers treated the residents as family. Since then I have been very impressed by how the home is run, the variety of activities and entertainment that take place, the great choice of food that the residents are given and the way that they bravely carried on with keeping the residents safe and happy during the pandemic. Tŷ Mair is very highly regarded within the local community and this is borne out by how much love and support they receive from the public. If you are looking for a home from home for a member of your family then I would highly recommend Tŷ Mair. The residents are a name not a number and the staff make sure they find out their likes and dislikes so that they can ensure they settle in quickly. The smiling faces of the residents says it all really.
What an amazing place Ty Mair Care Home is. During lockdown, we had to make the heart breaking decision to move mom, who has dementia, into a care home. This turned out to be the best decision we'd ever made. A place was available at Ty Mair and she moved there in July 2020. The day I took her to her new home, I was in bits, but the staff made her feel welcome straight away and took her off for a cup of tea and off she happily went without a backward glance.
Since being at Ty Mair, mom has returned to her happy go lucky self and has settled in well, making new friends. There are daily activities such as bingo, quizzes, karaoke and prior to local restrictions and now lockdown, a singer used to visit and get everyone singing and dancing.
As mom moved during lockdown in July, I've not been allowed inside, so we had our visits outside, with restrictions in place, which was great. However, visits had to stop when local restrictions were put in place a few weeks ago and Ty Mair had to make the decision to stop all visits to keep their residents and staff safe. It's hard not seeing mom, but I speak to her everyday and can facetime if I want to. The home also puts the activities up on Facebook every day, which is a great help.
All the staff at Ty Mair are brilliant. You can see by all the smiley faces of the residents how happy they are. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and you can see how much they love the residents and I know that mom loves them too.
It was such a hard decision to make about mom going to live in a care home, but I'm so pleased Ty Mair had a place because mom's happy and I don't feel so guilty, because I know mom is in good hands and getting the best care. This is all down to everyone at Ty Mair and for that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
My nana has been in ty mair for just over 12 months after a nasty fall at home. After trying for 6 months to find the right place for nan to be looked after we stumbled upon this absolute gem. As soon as my mother and I visited the home we know this was the one. From the moment we stepped foot in there we knew nan would be looked after. Just from the way the staff greet you and how clean the place is. After the first few visits to nan we could see how happy she was. This took so much worry off our minds knowing that our loved one was getting the care she deserved. If nan needs anything she gets it without hesitation from the staff. There have been occasions where nan has been unwell, Rachel and the team were contacting us straight away to let us know and also taking the best steps for nan. While the lockdown has been hard for us we are in the know that nan is getting the care and support she needs on a daily basis. As a family we would like to thank everyone at ty-mair for what they do for nan. You guys are the real hero’s of this world and we are eternally grateful.
They take care of my sister Margo. We all know now she is safe.
Fabulous home , very welcoming . Xx
